Smart Response (Formely Sendeo)
The Smart Response family has been designed for early upto K-12 classrooms and was designed to aid teachers in assessment of their pupils. The 'clickers' (wireless remotes) deliver formative and summative assesment details which can later be graphed and viewed in a variety of formats.
The basic Response system features twelve buttons allowing you to ask multiple choice questions sets, and the multi-line monochrome LCD touchscreen can provide many different question formats. What the LCD screen lacks can be made up by showing the questions on the white board.
Creating questions couldn't be simpler. Using the supplied software, questions and answers are easily entered, and can be saved for classes, allowing you to easily differentiate.
There is also an early-learners / SEN version of the Response interactive voting system. The SMART Response LE features large buttons that are easy enough to press, and have symbols rather than letters featured on them.
From a practical point of view, we are concerned about the length of time needed to remove the handsets from their storage to the classroom, and then to pack them away again. However, that shouldn't stop you from taking a look at these handsets.
